First General Meeting!
Are you hungry? Interested in helping to solve the hunger issue that is widespread in Berkeley's local homeless population in a direct way? Come to Humanity First's first general meeting where we'll be talking about our FEED THE HUNGRY initiative, including different volunteering and fundraising opportunities. FREE FOOD will be provided!

Deadweek Carepackages
Feed the Hungry Fundraiser
With Dead Week fast approaching we are excited to announce we are selling care packages to support Water For Life!
For a mere $4 (or $5 for delivery), you can get all of the following!

Humanity First has done this in the past and we had a great response. Preparing the care packages will take around 3-4 hours and we will deliver throughout Dead Week. By participating you will satisfy volunteer time commitment for this semester.

Bread Project Volunteering Event
Local Volunteering
Join us this for Berkeley Project on March 10th, 2018 to volunteer at the Berkeley Bread Project, a local organization focused on professional training, job placement assistance, and support services to help fight poverty. Their award-winning Bakery Boot Camp has consistently delivered industry leading outcomes. Since 2000, they have changed the trajectory of the lives of over 1,800 low income individuals with high barriers to employment; putting them on a path toward economic opportunity and living wage. We hope to see you there!

Basketball Tournament
Water for Life
Last year, Berkeley Humanity First held its first annual basketball fundraiser in order to raise funds for charity. Many teams participated in the tournament, each player contributing towards the proceeds donated to the Water for Life initiative in Ghana. In Ghana, our teams install new technology in existing wells and train local community members to maintain and repair the wells after our departure.

Gift of Sight
Acapella Concert
Humanity First held a Valentine's day special concert in order to promote the Gift of Sight cause. With many featured acapella group from UC Berkeley's campus, Berkeley Humanity First attracted a large crowd to raise proceeds for underprivileged individuals in Guatemala to have eye surgery. In Guatemala, our teams of doctors and volunteers not only perform eye surgeries, provide vision tests and dispense glasses, but they also work with local clinics to train local eye care professionals on updated diagnoses practices, treatments, and surgical techniques.

Medical Service Trip
Ayacuccho, Peru
Several club members of Berkeley's Humanity First participated in a medical service trip to Peru. As part of their service, they helped set up medical clinics in rural villages, assisted doctors with care, and attended to patient needs, since most lacked resources and information to sufficiently take care of themselves.
