Just as we are influenced by our genetics, so too are we influenced by the community around us, the same community that has given us countless opportunities and we should give back to. This year, I am very excited to serve as President and work with all of our members this year in our initiative to support Humanity First-USA’s projects. As a united student organization, it is time we step up and use our skills and time to help those in need because the truth is, disaster can happen to anyone. As your President, I hope to create a tight-knit community of students who are passionate in service and lead Humanity First at Berkeley to success. I hope to get to know all of my members and if you ever want to chat about Humanity First or the pre-med life at Berkeley, come talk to me at any of the meetings or activities. Let’s go Humanity First!

The city I grew up in, Hong Kong, is considered a “福地“, roughly translated to “blessed land” – this is because we have a comprehensive and solid education system, diversity and it’s located right at the center where East meets West. Hence, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer abroad over the past few years and I’m still amazed by how the things I take for granted can create such a big impact on someone’s life.

As your vice president, I hope I can bring this opportunity to you. Just because you don’t have superpowers, doesn’t mean you aren’t a superhero. I hope we can work together to empower others, to help each other develop and most importantly, to serve mankind. The passion, vision and tireless efforts of this team is the reason why I believe that Humanity First at Berkeley will succeed in flying colors. To all you superheroes, tap into your inner powers and let’s go help change the world!

Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the one thing I could always depend on, yet took for granted, was the community around me. Only when it was almost time to leave did I realize how fortunate I was to have such a supportive force always backing me. Now that I have moved to my new community of Berkeley, I am determined to do everything I can to offer that same help which I always received to others and I am so thankful to have such a great opportunity with Humanity First to do so. As the Director of Administration, although it may seem like I deal with a lot of logistics of the club, I look forward to these duties as an opportunity to get to know a great group of people with the common goal of making our local and global community a better place.

Hi there! I am extremely thrilled to be Humanity First’s Director of Business and National Programs this year!As the liaison between Humanity First at UC Berkeley and Humanity First USA,  I will be managing funding and sponsoring for all of our fundraisers. I will also help plan summer trips to places such as Ghana where we can directly help those in need. Being a member of Humanity First is more than just fundraising for those who don’t have access to basic needs that we have. It is truly about understanding their pain and tapping into our altruistic senses to reach out to them. Humanity First is a humbling opportunity to be in touch with the harsh realities of inequality locally and around the world and appreciate what we have so we are driven to provide the same to the others around us. Yay for Humanity First!
